Then get your pens or keyboards ready, and write a cool story over the summer. It can be a story about anything that you make up yourself; maybe you're the youngest soccer player in the World Cup, or a secret agent trying to find a formula that will change the world, or perhaps you dive through a shimmering pool and find yourself in a fantasy world where creatures from your wildest imagination exist, or maybe you're invisible - think of all the things you could do if no one could see you. Think of something you'd love to write about and let 'er rip!
The contest runs from June 2, 2010, to September 30, 2010, right before Book Five is released. This gives you four months to craft a wonderful story! Here are the rules:
1. The story must be completely original, something you make up yourself. 2. The contest is open to elementary, middle, and high school students. 3. Writers can work together to produce a group story (prize is one set of books only) 4. Your story must have at least five chapters and be between 2000 and 3000 words long. 5. Stories will be accepted only until the September 30 deadline. 6. Crying Cougar Press will not read and critique stories before you submit them. 7.
