In January of 2008, I traveled to Mississippi for a series of book talks at the Lamar County Library System.

Library Staff Photo
The staff of the Lamar County Library System did a terrific job of staging the book talks at each branch. I had a great time, met a bunch of nice people, and had a ball with hundreds of Conor's fans. I anticipate another visit to this rural county at some point in the future.

Oak Crest Middle School

On the first day of February I visited Oak Crest Middle School in Encinitas, California.

I used to attend meetings at the community center next to the school, and I made it a mission to lock in a day at Oak Crest.

Sharon Senese and her staff set up four book talks in a row, bought ten books and allowed me to meet a great group of students.

I hope to go back next year and do it all again!

Del Mar Heights Logo
On February 6, I paid a visit to Del Mar Heights School in Del Mar, California.

Linda Tucker invited me into a great library, perfect for a group of students to gather around in a wide semi-circle. When she turned out the lights my Powerpoint show looked fantastic! I love watching the students because know when the tiger is about to roar, or the evil laugh peels off, and I stand in the back of the room and watch the kids JUMP!

I saw two great groups of students and have already added a few to Conor's e-mail list.

La Paloma School
Thanks to Bev Sherman, I'll be making a second visit to La Paloma School in Fallbrook, California on February 12, 2008. I hope to entertain three 6th grade classes with a short discussion and a movie / slide presentation about the Conor and the Crossworlds series. Afterwards, I'll distibute information and answer questions from students, faculty and staff members. The show begins at 1:00P.M.

On the same day, February 12, I'll be presenting a book talk at 4:30 in the Serra Mesa/Kearny Mesa Branch of the San Diego Public Library.

This is one of the newest branches, with state of the art facilities. I can't wait to try out their equipment, and I hope the youth librarian and I can generate interest so it will be well attended.

This is the fourth branch library I've visited in the San Diego system. Only sixteen more to go!

Spring Valley Library, San Diego
On March 14, I'll be presenting a book talk at 3:30 in another San Diego library, the Spring Valley Branch. I'm excited to "branch" out into other areas of the county. I hope the students and patrons enjoy hearing about Conor as much as I like speaking about him.

This will be the fifth branch library I've visited in the San Diego system. Can we start a trend here?! I can't wait for the day when I can say I've done book talks in every branch in the San Diego Public Library System!

WOW - Kevin Gerard Travels to the Opposite End of the Country!!!

That's right, folks, from March 31 to April 4, I'll be running wild in the Northeast.

I'll visit Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire during four days of school, library and bookstore visits. The trip is seventy percent scheduled and excitement is building.

I've told a handful of teachers and librarians about the treasure hunt. They can't wait to learn more about Conor's adventures, and, of course, where I might one of the Five Keys of the Creators.

Rincon Middle School

On April 18, I will visit Rincon Middle School for an entire day of book talks!

I'll be speaking to seventh grade classes one after the other until Escondido has some good representatives for Conor's adventures. Conor and the Crossworlds will penetrate another city in San Diego County!

Bobbi Fuller invited me up for a full day of talks about Conor - thanks Bobbi!
